God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis Chapter 1:27
The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die! For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3: 4+5

I can’t tell you how many times I have heard and read Genesis chapter 3 or how many sermons I’ve heard about it. Yet, I never recognized this truth until I heard Jeff Vanderstelt ask, “Who are you listening to?” Satan tempts Eve to eat the fruit so she can be ‘like God.’ Yet we know that God created man 'in His own image.' How much more ‘like God’ could a person be? Will you believe that you are who God says you are or will you chase after the mirage that is tempting you to be your own god? What lies are you believing about yourself? Replace them with the TRUTH of God.
We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
Holy Spirit,
Work in my heart and my mind. Give me confidence to believe Your word and to reject the lies that Satan wants to use to trip me up. 1st John tells me that if I say that I have fellowship with You and walk in the darkness, I lie and do not practice the truth. Empower me to walk in the light so I can see the lies and recognize them for what they are. To practice is to repeat an exercise in or performance of an activity or skill so as to acquire or maintain proficiency in it. Help me to practice the Truth of scripture. Help me to repeatedly practice taking power away from lies by replacing them with Truth. I want to listen to You, not to the lies of Satan. Holy Spirit, You are my counselor. Speak the Gospel into my life, help me to apply the Gospel Truth in every aspect of my life. Amen.
