Discipleship

Discipleship is about engaging with people in a way that draws them closer to God. The Servants by Design materials gave me the tools to better see myself and others from God's perspective. This empowers me to be a better wife, a better mom, a better daughter, a better person. It gives me a greater appreciation for each person with whom I am in a relationship. It can do the same for you. I believe that each and every person matters. God does not make mistakes. He created each of us on purpose for a purpose.

Together we reflect the image of God more completely.

When we believe lies about ourselves, it can cripple our effectiveness. Recognizing the truth empowers us to engage in this life that we've been given. I believe each and every person is a wretched sinner, including me. God the Father loves us so much that He took on humanity. He sent His Son to live the perfect, sinless life of Jesus Christ, taking on the punishment for sin, once and for all, by dying on the cross in my place and yours. Jesus finished the work He was sent to do, but He did not abandon us when He returned to the Father. Jesus sent His Holy Spirit here to guide us until His return. All of that because He wants to be in a loving relationship with His creation. This truth repels the lies that we are unloved, unwanted, unworthy... I believe each and every person is loved by God and deserves my love, too. I have no right to withhold from you the love and forgiveness that He offers to me!

I have no business putting either of us on a pedestal. When we recognize that it's not a competition, it frees us to collaborate towards the common goal of His will. I believe we need each other. The road is narrow, but we are expected to walk it together. God knows we have poor memories. We need to be intentional about planting the seeds of truth into one another's lives and saturating that truth in love through grace so it can grow to fruition in our hearts. I believe God wants me to engage in discipleship with each person He places along the path with me. I want to share with you what He is teaching me. I want to learn what He is teaching you, too. Let's work toward spiritual maturity together as we disciple one another. The tool that has had the greatest impact on me personally has been the Your Unique Design / Servants by Design materials available thru Communicate4Change LLC. I believe it has the potential to improve your every relationship. Which is why I went thru the certification process to be able to teach others about SBD. It wasn’t enough for me to just have a surface knowledge of the information. I wanted to know as much as possible so I could help others to know more too. It continues to improve my every relationship.

Join me as we walk this path of discipleship. Scripture tells us the road is narrow. As sisters, we can still walk it hand in hand... maybe not always side by side... but I’m here, reaching out my hand to you. Will you take it, sister?

Father,

Open our eyes to see our sisters and ourselves as Your uniquely & purposefully created image-bearers. Give us the courage to tell each other hard truths. Open our ears to hear the love spoken with Your TRUTH. Help us to discern your whispers from the devil’s lies. Love our sisters well thru us.
